Teach By The Beach was founded in 1987 by executive director Jane Tyler. In the early years, Teach By The Beach was an after-school program where Jane delivered services after her regular work schedule as an educational specialist and speech pathologist in local school districts. Her work was so exciting and fulfilling that she was eager to continue working with students after the regular school day. So she created the after-school center. Since its inception, Jane has had enormous success with individuals coming to her with dyslexia, autism, auditory processing disabilities, math difficulties, speech and language delays, voice disorders, stuttering, attention deficits, and brain injury. She also provides test preparation, homework support and improved report card grades. After Jane retired from an extensive career in local school districts, she re-established Teach By The Beach as a full-time endeavor, always invigorated by the outstanding accomplishments of her students.
