1. To reach students who have doubts about their math ability and show them they can do it! And not only that, they can have a rewarding experience doing it.2. To make math more accessible to everyone by providing an extremely solid foundation in the basics through Algebra and into Geometry.3. To empower students by teaching them how to learn, and supporting them every step of the way4. Long term: to make this type of empowering math instruction more accessible to everyone, regardless of income or educational background.5. Long term: to further high school and college drop-out prevention efforts by making this type of empowering math instruction availableto all students. This is critical in the early stages to identify and support younger students with a can do attitude! History Established in 2011. After 7 years of teaching in various California classrooms, I burned out. Not from the kids but from the politics. Being forced to use various math curriculums even though they were, ahem, bad. Students being grouped, nay, forced into classes they didn’t belong in. In my most extreme example, I had one student get 100% all year long sitting next to a student that literally had 0%. It was impossible to differentiate. Frustrated, I launched on my own utilizing the same techniques that made me successful as a teacher but in a 1-on-1 setting that made it VERY easy to differentiate and meet each student wherever they were at … whether it was at that 100% level or 0% level. Math, like life, is a pyramid & I’m able to help students develop where they are weak. As my reputation has spread, I have been able to bring along like-minded staff members to help accomodate overflow. I look forward to serving you
