TutoringWe provide individual and group tutoring in mathematics and science from Kindergarten through 12th grade, including SAT/ACT Math, AP Calculus AB/BC, and AP Physics. We accommodate to every learning style and customize each student’s experience to meet their academic goals. Whether they need some extra support with their homework or to prepare for an upcoming exam, we are here to help them succeed! STEM ClassesWe specialize in making Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) come alive in fun and engaging ways that expand the mind of the learner!! Our STEM classes explore concepts of engineering design, robotics, video game design, coding/programming, and Minecraft. From building their own robot to designing their own video game, the beauty of STEM will encourage each student to embrace the future and emerge as a champion of innovation. Homeschooling – Science/Mathematics ClassesOur Mathematics and Science classes are aligned with the most current state standards (i.e. the Common Core State Standards and the Next Generation Science Standards). They are designed to accommodate the learning needs of the students enrolled and are taught using a variety of teaching strategies (e.g. project-based learning, experiential learning, and discovery learning). We’re currently an approved vendor of Inspire Charter School and Valiant Academy. History Established in 2015. Moving Mindz started as an idea to change education.
John holds a Master of Arts in Education with a specialization in Mathematics Education and a Single Subject credential in Mathematics. He has been involved in education for over 12 years, with extensive experience in curriculum development, STEM programming, and Common Core alignment. He has served on multiple committees at the district and state level, addressing STEM education, the Next Generation Science Standards, and the Common Core State Standards. He has presented both regionally and nationally on topics ranging from engineering in the elementary, integrating the arts in the STEM curriculum, and project-based learning. He has served on the Board of Directors for the Greater Los Angeles Mathematics Council for six years, and serving the last two years as the Vice President.
