As a current licensed math teacher, I continue to notice that many students struggle with algebra and geometry. Families come to us when they notice the grades in the grade book starting to slide. Most of the time this is due to a disconnect between the homework and the assessments. Their homework grades are often high, yet the test scores are low. This results in students feeling frustrated and overwhelmed, and by the end of the semester, burnt out.Sometimes, grades are negatively impacted because of the teaching environment. Other times, grades suffer due to students’ lives being busy and they have not mastered efficient time management for studying. At Raising The Bar Academic Coaching, we bring students to greater levels of achievement by providing study strategies that students aren’t taught in school. We provide a motivational experience to give students a renewed confidence in math–and other subjects–so they end the year on a high note.We offer a free first hour so families can determine if the coach and student are a great fit. This provides no monetary risk to families.Academic Coaches are well-versed in the following areas: all levels of math (Algebra I/II, Geometry, Trigonometry, and Calculus), ACT/SAT prep, Chemistry, Physics, Writing, and general study skills. Please consider us as you look for academic assistance! Remember: Set New Standards. Reach New Heights. Raise The Bar.
Hello! I am the owner and head academic coach of Raising The Bar Academic Coaching. I have been working with students and other coaches since 2013, right after teaching at Red Rocks Community College in Lakewood, CO. Since then, I have also gone back to get my Master's in Education so I can teach math full-time. Currently, I work at an alternative high school 65 miles away from home, so I am not unfamiliar to long commutes. I love helping students who do not have an affinity for math see the beauty and potential application of the subject in their own lives. My academic coaches and I love the learning process and strive to share this passion with the students we serve. Several of my own interests include the Rubik's Cube (I spoke on this topic at TEDxBoulder 2018), playing guitar, writing lyrics and poetry, snowshoeing, and spending time with my family when I am not teaching or tutoring. Raising The Bar Academic Coaching also recommends Knowledge Bound 4 reviews Elementary Schools, Middle Schools & High Schools Dan V. says, Knowledge Bound is an excellent location to find supplemental materials for studying and mastering various academic subjects.
