History Established in 1983. As a nationally recognized expert in education and parenting, Lisa Jacobson is a frequent guest on television news shows and in print media, including The New York Times, The Wall Street Journal, and dozens of other major news outlets. She founded Inspirica in 1983 as one of the first private tutoring companies in the country. Lisa began her career as a private math tutor after graduating from Stanford University. She excelled at helping students who thought they were “bad at math” turn around and love the subject. Although private standardized test preparation was new at the time, Lisa soon began to offer SAT support as well, and her students still enjoyed being tutored! So Lisa set out on a mission: to find and train tutors who could do more than teach academic or testing material.
