For more than 30 years, I have worked as the founder of Prince Learning tutoring service, an Assistant Professor of English at Skyline College, and a workshop leader at Gonzaga, Stanford and De Anza.I started by teaching and tutoring SAT and ACT prep, progressed to verbal sections of numerous other tests (GMAT, GRE, LSAT, and MCAT), and added PSAT, SSAT, CBEST, and CSET prep. In addition, I tutor and teach speed-reading, study and note taking skills, and grammar, writing, and vocabulary improvement. Over the years, I have developed combined programs (e.g., speed-reading and test prep), always tailoring all work to meet the needs and goals of individual clients.
I graduated from U.C. Berkeley in psychology and did graduate work in philosophy at the University of Edinburgh in Scotland. I have Language Arts and Reading credentials from the San Mateo and San Francisco Community College Districts.For 20 years as an assistant professor of English at Skyline College, I taught the entire sequence of reading courses, learning skills, basic writing, grammar, and vocabulary. I designed and taught GMAT prep for Gonzaga University's School of Business for eight years, taught SAT Verbal for USC's School of Education for seven years, designed and taught short courses in SAT, ACT, PSAT, speed-reading, grammar, and vocabulary improvement for Foothill-De Anza Community Education for 17 years, and SAT Verbal and Math for Sylvan Learning for eight years.Since 1987, I have tutored standardized test prep, speed-reading, study and learning skills, and writing, grammar, and vocabulary improvement to teens and adults.
