College Direction helps students in the Denver area with college planning and test prep for the SAT and ACT. History Established in 1996. Susie Watts founded College Direction after working for many years as a college consultant. College Direction came about because Susie felt that too many students were not receiving the kind of college counseling they needed in order to make good college decisions. She talked with high school counselors who said they did not have the time or resources to help students the way they would like. Many schools also did not have budgets to allow their counselors to visit college campuses. As the mother of five children and with her educational credentials in education and counseling, Susie felt College Direction could fill this void. She is the member of five professional organizations and visits colleges and universities extensively to get a flavor for each campus. Susie became an expert in test prep and wanted to offer affordable and effective options for students. She knew that test scores would continue to be an important factor in college admissions
