At Huntington Learning Center, we build a personalized learning plan to unlock each child’s academic performance. We have three core offerings for students – 1) Learning Center Tutoring, 2) Subject Tutoring, and 3) Test Preparation. Our approach is to work in partnership with schools to support students who need additional assistance and to accelerate students who are academically gifted.With our Learning Center tutoring, we take a holistic look at the student’s abilities and design a plan specifically for them. Through our unique testing, we are able to take the child back to their appropriate level, rebuild their basic skills, and guide them in becoming an independent learner. We have had great success helping students gain the skills appropriate for their grade level and preparing them for the following year.Our subject matter tutoring is designed to support and accelerate a student’s ability in specific subjects (e.g. math, science, and reading). With many students, we help them achieve the levels of success required for subjects in their current grade level. Test Preparation is an offering where we have achieved consistent success with our students. Over the past year, we have helped students increase SAT scores by 150 – 200 points and increase ACT scores by 4 – 7 points on average. We also help rising 9th graders improve their scores on the ISEE test to attend the private high school of their choice. History Established in 1995.
