We at IES have developed a unique and all-intensive curriculum in Verbal, Math and Essay Writing. Our Students love the ease of the technique that is taught. They love the family like atmosphere at IES NJ as we keep long lasting relationships with all of our students and their families. History Established in 2001. IES Test Prep (formerly known as IES 2400) began as the tutoring team of Arianna and Khalid who excelled in SAT prep and helped their first student achieve a perfect score in December of 2001. Through word of mouth, news of this power tutoring team spread throughout Central Jersey and soon the IES founders were booked from 3pm to 9pm every day of the week and from 9am to 8pm every weekend. As student scores increased, so did demand for their services, and in 2002, Arianna and Khalid began renting classroom space in schools all over NJ to run their SAT courses. Unable to satisfy a growing demand for SAT prep solely through private lessons, the founders decided in March of 2007 to open the first IES Center on Main Street, Metuchen, offering SAT and standarized test prep classes within the private school system. Today, IES’s Metuchen location has a staff of 18 fully trained, highly motivated SAT instructors and an enrollment of over 700 students a year.
I come from an international business family and when I was a student at Princeton I developed close relationships with my favorite professors. On one occasion I hosted the Chairman of the Princeton History Department at my family's ranch in Kenya. He was doing research in African history and I was proud to introduce him to some key figures in African society whom I knew well. When I graduated in 1988, seven professors attended my private reception party. We held interesting academic conversations about world affairs. Like many of my classmates I entered the world of international finance, received my MBA in 1991 and pursued a career in business. But I always desired to build an academy to re-create the spirit of my Princeton experience. I wanted a place where students could feel close to their teachers, respect them as mentors and not fear them as authorities. I am very proud to say that I have succeeded in creating this academy as a small replica of Princeton.
