Lowcountry Academic Consulting, LLC was founded in 2018 with the vision of changing the way students, parents, and educators approach education. We partner with students and parents to create customized approaches to education based on the unique learning style of the client. We use a holistic approach by incorporating your academic, career, social, financial, and health targets into a personalized plan; which allows us to understand your situation on a far deeper level than traditional tutoring. Every client has access to an array of services that are tailored just for them. This allows us to offer the specific support you need to help you achieve your goals. It’s time education stopped being about fitting into a box, and instead started being about you! History Established in 2018. Courtney founded Lowcountry Academic Consulting, LLC after serving much of her life in public service through both education and politics. At the request of a teacher, she began tutoring classmates in middle school which soon expanded into an after-school business. By college, tutoring and mentoring had become routine in her life. Despite her achievements, Courtney’s health declined rapidly while in high school. She constantly searched to find ways to manage her condition, so it would become a learning curve instead of the barrier she had previously seen it as. Today, she hopes Lowcountry Academic Consulting, LLC can help others overcome the obstacles in their life and be the resource she could never find.
Courtney attended the College of Charleston, where she graduated cum laude with Bachelor of Arts degrees in both Political Science and Theater, and minors in International Studies and Physics. She also earned her Global Master's in Business Administration (with a Finance focus) from the college. Upon graduation, she continued using her unique approach to learning in order to help others, both on a professional and volunteer basis. Her passion for improving education continued as she was recruited to be a high school math teacher by the highly selective Teach for America program (AmeriCorps), where she fought to end educational inequity and helped to shape the minds of future leaders in both Mississippi and South Carolina. She currently holds a State of South Carolina teaching license.
