We currently offer:- SAT Prep- SSAT Prep- Tutoring for students all the way from Pre-K to 12th grade- Math (all subjects)- Reading/writing- Science (biology, chemistry, and physics)Building confidence in the hearts and minds of students is one of the core components of where success begins. At Accelerations we believe that it is never too early to start learning. The students are as young as 4, and as old as college aged. We promote small group classes rather than individualized learning because kids like to be around other kids and enjoy cooperative learning. Learning should be in an atmosphere of discipline compiled with laughter and fun. At Accelerations we demand the best of our students, and as a result they grow and improve academically and socially and develop a belief in self. Moreover, we have built a center where kids take risks because they trust us. Our gratification at Accelerations comes to us in how confident our students become and the empowerment of feeling go History Established in 2003. Accelerations Learning Center was established in 2003 by Cassandra Tokars in a one-room classroom in Kaimuki with 36 students. Cassandra was a successful math teacher in different private schools in Hawaii for over 8 years. She opened the learning center, as a place where kids were going to come and learn and be taught, not tutored. “Tutoring” kids can be at times disabling where they can become dependent and powerless. Accelerations doesn’t tutor students; we teach ahead in a meaningful way.
I write to you incredibly honored and humbled for the opportunity to educate your children and give back to a world that has blessed me so. It is amazing how fortunate I have been in my life with the privilege of being able to do what I love most: inspire kids to do their very best and reach for the stars. Which is the reason my non-profit is called Nahoku 'Ala. Thank you for allowing me to share with you a new journey that will open new doors and give endless opportunities to Hawaii's students competing for America's top colleges.
